As we near the end of 2011, I want once again to express my thanks for your support this year. We are preparing to move into the new year with a continued focus on service and product development. MiniCo has made it a key priority to listen to you, our valued agents, and respond with new products, policy enhancements, and customer initiatives to enhance your experience working with MiniCo.
There’s been a great deal of change and progress at MiniCo in 2011, as well as a reinforcement of our existing strengths.
In our continuing focus on being the premier provider of specialty insurance for self-storage businesses, we announced a new partnership with Aspen American Insurance Company as an additional carrier for our self-storage insurance product. At the same time, MiniCo continues its ongoing and very successful relationship with Liberty Agency Underwriters. Our partnership with two carriers translates into greater flexibility and coverage options to help you meet the needs of your self-storage clients. MiniCo also began offering our self-storage insurance coverage in British Columbia, Canada, with the goal of expanding into other provinces and territories in 2012.
We took our first steps beyond self-storage with the introduction of MiniCo Collectibles Insurance, a specialty program that provides valuable and highly affordable coverage for hundreds of types of collections. The new agent portal is now live and can be accessed at www.minico.com. MiniCo has launched an online portal to provide quoting and binding services to agents for its specialty collectibles insurance product.
The MiniCo Collectibles Insurance program provides all-risk coverage for private collections valued up to one million dollars in a home or storage facility. Collections are insured for their full collectible value. By contrast, most homeowner policies pay claims at actual cash value, which in most cases would be far less than the collectible value, or there may be a higher premium for replacement-cost coverage.
With MiniCo Collectibles Insurance, the policyholder establishes the value of the collection. No appraisal is required at the time of application.
MiniCo Collectibles Insurance is offered nationwide in partnership with AXA ART Insurance Corporation, the only globally operating specialty art and collectibles insurance company offering tailor-made coverage solutions for private and corporate collections, museums, galleries and artists.
